Declaration on the terms of use of artificial intelligence

1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. This Declaration defines the rules and restrictions regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools by authors, editors, reviewers, and other participants in the editorial process. The document aims to ensure academic integrity, transparency, and accountability in the creation, evaluation, and publication of scientific materials.

1.2. The journal recognizes the potential benefits of modern AI tools; however, it emphasizes the necessity of adhering to ethical, legal, and professional standards.

2. KEY TERMS

Artificial Intelligence (AI) – any automated systems, machine-learning models, or generative models capable of creating, transforming, or analyzing text, images, audio, or other data.

Generative AI – AI systems capable of generating new content, including text, images, code, tables, and similar materials.

Auxiliary Use of AI – the use of AI tools for technical support, including language editing, literature search, formatting, or data analysis.

AI-generated Content – text, images, formulas, or any other material generated or substantially modified by an AI tool.

3. PRINCIPLES OF AI USE

3.1. All participants in the editorial process must ensure transparency, reliability, accountability, and academic integrity when using AI.

3.2. No AI system may be listed as an author of a scientific article.

3.3. AI must not be used for:

  • fabrication or falsification of results;

  • replacing or masking an author’s contribution;

  • concealing plagiarism;

  • unauthorized analysis of confidential data;

  • manipulating images or graphics without proper disclosure.

4. USE OF AI BY AUTHORS

4.1. Authors may use AI for auxiliary purposes, including:

  • language editing;

  • technical formatting;

  • literature search;

  • data analysis (provided results are manually verified).

4.2. If AI was used to write, edit, or structure any part of the article, authors must clearly disclose this in the “Acknowledgements” or “Author Contributions” section, specifying:

  • which tool was used,

  • for what purpose,

  • the scope of its use.

4.3. Authors are required to:

  • fully verify the accuracy of facts, citations, and references generated by AI;

  • refrain from providing AI tools with materials containing confidential data, trade secrets, or information not intended for disclosure.

4.4. AI-generated content may not constitute a substantial part of the scientific research.

5. USE OF AI BY REVIEWERS

5.1. Reviewers are prohibited from uploading manuscripts, in whole or in part, to generative AI systems if such actions may cause:

  • leakage of confidential information,

  • violation of anonymity principles,

  • unauthorized dissemination of data.

5.2. Reviewers may use AI only for:

  • checking language in their own review text,

  • auxiliary analysis of publicly available sources.

5.3. AI must not be used to draft an entire review or to make decisions on behalf of the reviewer.

6. USE OF AI BY THE EDITORIAL OFFICE

6.1. The editorial office may use AI for:

  • initial text similarity checks;

  • automated detection of anomalies (generative patterns, incorrect citations, fabrication indicators);

  • checking the structure or formatting of the article.

6.2. All final decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript are made exclusively by humans.

6.3. The editorial office guarantees that no confidential materials are transferred to external AI services that do not ensure an appropriate level of data protection.

7. RESPONSIBILITY

7.1. Authors bear full responsibility for:

  • the accuracy of information created or modified using AI;

  • the correctness of citations, references, data, and conclusions;

  • proper disclosure of AI use.

7.2. Violation of this document may result in:

  • rejection of the manuscript;

  • retraction of a published article;

  • notification of the author’s institution;

  • inclusion of the author in the journal’s list of ethical violators.

8. PROCEDURE FOR DISCLOSING AI USE

Authors must disclose the use of AI in a designated section during submission or at the end of the manuscript, for example:

“The authors used the ChatGPT tool (OpenAI) for language editing. All content was manually verified by the authors. AI models did not contribute to the generation of scientific results.”

9. FINAL PROVISIONS

9.1. This Declaration enters into force upon approval.

9.2. The journal reserves the right to amend the document in accordance with technological developments in AI and international standards of academic ethics.

9.3. All updates are published on the journal’s official website and become mandatory upon publication.

9.4. In case of conflict between this Declaration and applicable legislation, the norms of current legislation shall apply.
